about

PLAY LOUD. Recorded live at Beerland, venerable Austin punk rock club, the Revelators take the stage for the first time in twenty years. Joined by Walter Daniels for two songs, the show was in preparation for their appearance at the Funtastic Dracula Carnival in Spain two months later. As part of the Austin Jukebox series, the Revelators shared the bill with Australian band the Moles.

Recorded with a handheld recorder by Steve Schweckhammer, it's raw, but you can hear everything. Well, maybe not all at the same time, but you can hear everything some of the time. If you wondered what a live Revelators show was like, here ya go - between all the fuckups and smartass comments from the stage you get an explosion of raw, primitive rock n' roll.

In the words of Crypt Records CEO Tim Warren, "Shit-hot high-octane roots-drenched punkrock caterwaul!"

about

The Revelators Columbia, Missouri

Exploding from the middle of nowhere with no fans, no scene, and no reason to exist, the Revelators recorded one of the greatest punk/garage/roots/whatever you wanna call it/ROCK N' ROLL albums of all time with "We Told You Not To Cross Us" and then promptly fell off the face of the earth before the follow-up "Let a Poor Boy Ride" was even released. Both LPs are now regarded as lost classics. ... more
